Although pleural mesothelioma is the most common type of mesothelioma, pericardial mesothelioma has caused many others to suffer painful symptoms as well. Cause of Pericardial Mesothelioma

It is believed that the asbestos fibers do this by being absorbed into the blood stream.

Treatments
A cure has yet to be found for this type of mesothelioma and, unfortunately, there are limited treatment options. Pericardial mesothelioma occurs in the lining of the heart, making surgery very dangerous and usually not a viable treatment option. Other treatments may include radiation or chemotherapy. Much like the other forms of mesothelioma, the treatments are used to help decrease the pain of the disease’s symptoms.
