52 Companies Named As Defendants By Asbestos Lawsuit

by Administrator 27. February 2008 12:02
Attorney Bryan Blevins filed suit this week on behalf of his client Robert T. Booker, naming some 52 companies, including A.O. Smith Corp., Pfizer, and Union Carbide Corp., as defendants in the asbestos-related case. The lawsuit, filed in Jefferson County District Court, accuses defendants of failing to warn the public about the dangers of asbestos exposure and failing to sufficiently test their asbestos-containing products before putting them on the market. Booker is seeking damages for pain and suffering, mental anguish, lost wages, disfigurement, and physical impairment, as well as exemplary damages. Have you developed health problems due to asbestos exposure? If so, call 866-950-9000 right away to set up a free initial consultation with a mesothelioma lawyer from Williams Kherkher.

Asbestos Scare at California School

by Administrator 27. February 2008 12:02
An asbestos scare at Mokelumne River School, in Lodi, CA, prompted the closing of several classrooms and the relocation of students. Clifford Goehring, president of the school's board, said that the asbestos may have been disturbed by workers who were repairing a leaky walkway.  School officials took action by moving students to empty classrooms and a nearby church. Further test results are still pending. Asbestos, a substance popularly used in construction for its heat resistance and insulating properties, has been shown to cause a lung cancer called mesothelioma. If you suffer from asbestos-induced mesothelioma, you may be entitled to compensation for your pain. Call 866-950-9000 to discuss your case with a mesothelioma lawyer from Williams Kherkher.

by Administrator 26. February 2008 19:02
In an event organized by the Hampshire Asbestos Support and Awareness Group, victims of asbestos exposure will release a thousand balloons Wednesday as part of the observation of Action Mesothelioma Day. Statistics show that nearly 600 people died from mesothelioma in the Portsmouth and southeast Hampshire region alone between 1984-2005. The organizers hope that the event will raise awareness in the UK about the deadly lung cancer, which is diagnosed in 2,000 new patients every year. Mesothelioma, along with several other lung disorders, has been linked to asbestos exposure. Have you been exposed to asbestos and suffer from its health effects? If so, call a mesothelioma lawyer at 866-950-9000 for a free consultation about your case.

$9 Million Verdict for New York Electrician with Asbestos Lung Cancer

by Administrator 25. February 2008 16:02
Mr. Joel Rosenberg, was awarded $9 million by a New York jury.  Mr Rosenberg had worked as an electrician for his entire career with Alpha Wire Company, a manufacturer of electrical cable that was encased in an asbestos coating.   The jury found the wire manufacturer guilty of exposing this longtime electrician to a cancer-causing agent by virtue of the fact that he spent years connecting, cutting and splicing their electrical cable products. The case was decided in December 2007 and is the first where a jury has ruled against a manufacture of wire used in a commercial setting. This case is the first where a jury has found against a manufacturer of wire used in a commercial setting – and as such, provides yet another benchmark for liability in the industrial uses of asbestos.
