Risk of Asbestos Exposure During Environmental Storm Clean Up

by Administrator 25. June 2008 11:06
The violent storms that have raged through the country this spring and summer have left a great deal of destruction in their wake. The people left to pick up the pieces are often those who lost everything as the storm passed. Although clean up is crucial to the towns that were hit by the damaging weather, it is important to be aware of the possibility of asbestos exposure while handling building materials. Homes built before the 1980s may still contain asbestos materials. Anyone involved in the clean up of debris or building materials should be aware of this risk and take every precaution to ensure that asbestos fibers are not inhaled or ingested. If you or a loved one has been exposed to asbestos fibers and developed the devastating illness of mesothelioma, contact the mesothelioma lawyers of Williams Kherkher by calling 866-950-9000.

According to the lawsuit, Sims was exposed to various dangerous toxic and carcinogen dusts, including asbestos, during his time as an employee of Du Pont. The suit claims that Du Point was fully aware of the dangers of the dusts and did nothing to warn their employees of the dangers. It also claims that Du Pont negligently failed to provide Sims and other workers a safe working environment. Mrs. Sims is seeking punitive damages, as well as mental anguish, medical expenses, loss of earning capacity and loss of consortium.
