Rosia Green, the representative of George Greer’s estate, has filed an asbestos suit against Chevron USA and 12 other companies stating that Greer’s death was wrongfully caused. The suit was filed on August 28, in the Jefferson County District court in Texas on behalf of the family. George Green Sr. died from mesothelioma at the age of 75. George Greer was employed from 1960 through the 1980s by the various companies mentioned in the suit. He was also a seaman during this period, which has allowed his family to sue under the Jones Act.
The suit states that during the course of his employment he was exposed to and inhaled, ingested or otherwise absorbed asbestos fibers from certain products manufactured or distributed by the defendant companies. As a result he contacted mesothelioma, from which he died a painful death. While the exact amount is not known, the plaintiff is suing for exemplary damage, medical expenses, and impairment and disfigurement.
If you or a loved one has become ill after being exposed to asbestos, you may have grounds for a personal injury suit. For more information contact the mesothelioma lawyers Williams Kherkher at 800-220-9341.
