Two days into the asbestos case over WR Grace and Libby, Montana, the judge has made a ruling that limits the testimony of the Environmental Protection Agency official who orchestrated the Libby mine cleanup. The judge has ordered this official to refrain from discussing any scientific data in the trial.
The entire city of Libby, Montana was exposed to asbestos and a large percentage of the population has been diagnosed with mesothelioma. The prosecutors allege that WR Grace and the owners of the mine knowingly mined asbestos laden vermiculite without informing any of the workers or city residents of the dangers.
