In Estacada, Oregon, members of the Eagle Creek Annex Committee will be meeting in the first week of April. The committee will be discussing the future of the Eagle Creek Annex, which has been closed for the last three decades. The building, located next to Eagle Creek Elementary School, is dilapidated and contains asbestos which should cost around $18,000 to remove.
Possible outcomes of the meeting include renovation, destruction, and a "learn to burn" excercise to help firefighters in training. However, because the building is historic, demolition may not be an option. Either way, however, asbestos abatement is most likely in the future of the building whether for destruction or renovation purposes.
