Research into asbestos and mesothelioma has found that the dangerous substance not only causes ovarian and laryngeal cancers, but also causes kidney cancer. As with the other forms of cancer, asbestos finds its way out of the lungs and into the body cavity, allowing it to travel to the kidneys.
Mesothelioma kidney cancer develops on the lining of the kidneys, much like mesothelioma lung cancer does. As with other forms of mesothelioma, the kidney form is difficult to detect but is treatable. Treatment for mesothelioma kidney cancer is the same as for other forms of kidney cancer.
