The well-known manager of the Sex Pistols, Malcolm Mclaren died last week of mesothelioma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer that is primarily associated with exposure to asbestos.
Mclaren was diagnosed with the disease in October and sought treatment in a London clinic. Unfortunately he lost his battle with mesothelioma at 62 years of age. Mclaren owned a clothing store called "Sex" and was very involved in the remodeling.
During the remodeling, Mclaren requested that the remnants of the ceiling tiles to be scattered all over the floor to look as if "a bomb has gone off." Neither Mclaren or the crew was aware that there was asbestos present in the tiles. Mclaren's doctors are saying that this lead to his development of mesothelioma.
